Casa Madera is located in the central part of Tucson Arizona, close to the historic Arizona Inn. The property consists of three buildings on approximately an acre of land of which 80% is zoned for multiple units. The main house is an historic adobe house with 3400 square feet of inside space and over 4000 square feet of covered space.

The main house has 14 rooms, plus five bathrooms.   The rear cottage has two bedrooms and one bath in 1100 square feet.  The front cottage has 1400 square feet divided into two units. It is also a historic building constructed in 1938. This unique property has a large amount of buildable space is zoned for multiple units. The original house, a 400 square foot adobe structure, was built in 1914. It is reported to be the first structure in the neighborhood.  During the 1930s the main house became a monastery and was occupied by a monastic order based in New Mexico.  Much of the building on the property was done by the monks. In 1972 the building was reconstructed by a local artist. The front cottage was constructed in 1938 and is mainly of adobe construction. The rear cottage was constructed in the 1960s and is built of double redbrick. Between the main house and the rear cottage there is a large area in which native mesquite trees have established a beautiful natural environment populated by many birds including a population of white winged doves that visit every winter.

Between the front of the main house and the front cottage there is a very large space, which could be used to construct additional units or expanded into a larger  garden area.

 At the moment, it is in its original state.  The space which measures 100 by 300 feet is zoned R-2, and would allow a large number of additional units. The current owners have kept it as open space in keeping with its historic character.
